Another Aussie - citizenship approved

Citizenship approved... We went to the Australian high commission here in Delhi on Friday to lodge Emilia's passport application. Her citizenship was approved on Thursday and is now a true blue Aussie.

With a little luck we should have a temp passport on Monday or Tuesday, then we can head to the frro and apply for her exit visa .

We will have been here 3 weeks this coming Friday, and as much as I really want to stay here, finances and family need me home. Both Tim and I have been a little sick this trip, Tim has sent the inside of the hospital twice.

We took Emilia and her cousin Namaeya to the rooftop pool today or some sun and fresh air.

Emilia has started becoming a little more alert and aware, I'm not sure how much she can actually see but she certainly knows when we are around. If she doesn't want to sleep she won't. If she wants food she demands it. She is really a very happy baby.

Here are a few more pics of our "babymoon"

Love the baby frown she gives...

Emilia and her surrogacy cousins.

Tim and Kylie fooling about at the spaghetti kitchen in saket select city walk shopping centre.

More cousins hanging about the breakfast dining room.

This is my favorite photo.

Thanks for following our journey.

Daddy has finally held his daughter (this didn't post hence it is out of order)

Yesterday I finally was allowed to hold my baby girl Emilia

Her look of "who the hell are you?" Is priceless and a memory I will never forget. I can't wait to bring her home and hold her forever.

If only we could read her mind?

Lazy daddy not blogging

It is 13 days that we have been here in Delhi, and as amazing as this place is, we  are all sick. Tim has been to hospital twice and doctors 3 times, I am a little tougher having only been to doctors once. The chemist here are a whole new thing. Prescription and hand written on doctor letter head, writing I illegible, this is also yours to keep as it is your instructions, you can have as many pills as you like, they don't really care, just pay. Hahaha

Emilia is doing fantastically. She eats and sleeps well and is so very responsive. I have her a bath myself today (daddy is proud) she loves the water and rarely screams, she just "frowns" when she is not happy. So far I think I have changed all her Nappys. And having never in 33 years changed a nappy I can't believe how simple it actually is.

It's interesting how much I feared having to look after Emilia, but how second nature it really is.

I love this photo, she looks so content.

Very special girl in daddy's arms. Happy sleeping.

Very very proud daddy

Emilia - 6 days old

2400gm (only 180 bellow birth weight)
Finally has all tubes removed except for her annoying feed tube. (That goes tomorrow)
Still wasn't allowed to pick her up.
Now the iv and antibiotics are out and stopped she is so much more alert (and grumpy) (see the frown in the photo)
We heard her cry for the first time today.
Eyes were open and very observant, they seem dark but I'm sure there is some light colour showing through?? Time will tell.
Hopefully they have started bottle feeding her tomorrow. Then hopefully we can bring her home Wednesday "ish"
All in all another fantastic daddy day

Check out that baby frown!!!
Almost a cheeky smile there.

1 week tomorrow

Hotel Eden - Delhi

Well what an exciting week it has been. Last Saturday my brother in law married his beautiful bride. Monday our baby daughter made her entrance into the word. Thursday we packed like crazy and boarded the flight to India. Friday morning we met our daughter for the first time. Saturday we spent time with our new surrogacy family from all over the world. which brings me to the present "Sunday" 30 June 2013.

Soooo Yeahhh just a normal week really. NOT!

Ok so i am using Tims laptop to write this, ignore my spelling. if it doesnt make sense it is the computer or the jet lag.

so i am still stuck on Melbourne time. 6am melbourne time wake up is 1 am here!!! this is killing me.

oh i have to say it this keyboard is terrible.

Emilia is doing great. she lost about 300 - 400 grams from her birth weight but is now back on the increase. she is simply perfect.

We have again met some really great people who we are proud to be sharing this journey with. Without the support of everyone else chasing the same dream it may very well be a lonely road. We were invited by a beautiful person to visit her twins in the NICU who were born very early. this was a true honor as her daughters are the most amazing and beautiful babies i have seen, She is a strong person herself and it really shows through in her 2 babies.

I am told that it is best to keep blog post short and frequent. So how about i leave this post here and i promise to post again daily.

2 weeks until we leave

2 weeks we will be taking off from Melbourne heading for Singapore for a 72 hour stopover then onto Delhi for what will be a month long life changing holiday.

We flew with Singapore air last time and we were very happy with their service. Tim decided he wanted to stop In Singapore to visit Universal Studios and do shopping, so we will spend 2 days there before continuing to Delhi.

I have never been the sort to count down to any life event but this one is a little different. I am already in holiday mode (my staff tell me that they can tell when i am preparing for a holiday as i stop wearing my work uniform) hahahaha well i stopped wearing it this week.

Well that is all for now however i will update everyone following our journey as often as possible

Baby Shower

Last Saturday my close friend and mother in law organised a baby shower. It was great to have friends and family come and celebrate with us. It was Tim's brother's bucks party the same day coincidentally so he had to share his time between the two events. I will let the photos speak for themselves and thank you to everyone who was there and gave us fantastic baby gifts.

This cake was made by my gorgeous 10 year old niece Hayley (Pictured)

"Nappy Cakes"?????? i had never heard of these before. Now i have 2 of them. How cool do they look, i don't even want to unwrap them. Guess the number of lollies in the giant bottles. (little bit of fun)

Lolly MADNESS

LOLLIES, lollies, LoLlIeS and MoRe LOLLIES

Diabetics were sent disclaimers before attending as the level of sugar available for consumption was VERY HIGH. And with the variety we still only bought about 10% of the available variety in the store.

My Nephew Marcus was more than happy to sit next to the lolly buffet.

Uncles Chris and Bryan cleaning up the kitchen after the party.

This may sound very strange, but i TOTALLY DISLIKE receiving gifts for me. I would much prefer to buy gifts for others than receive them. LUCKY for me all of these gifts are for the baby.....

The nursery finally has some colour. We still have a little more decorating to do but it will get there. Our families have asked us not to decorate to much as they want to come in while we are in Delhi (and know if its a boy or girl) and decorate it for us.

According to my calculations we are 35 weeks today, not long to go now. We plan to arrive in Delhi early July for the best overseas holiday EVER.

Thanks for following our journey.
